"Carrying a town's water" by Diana Marcum review
This article was about a 72-year old woman named Donna Johnson who did anything she could to get families water during a drought in California. She walked door to door in over 100 degree weather and asked people if they needed water or had extra water. Marcum was saying that Donna Johnson was very helpful during this drought. She supports this claim by talking about Johnson's experience with the people in the town and about her journeys to find someone with water. This article is a good story, but its not really an argumentative piece. Marcum always was describing how tired the people were and how hot it was to add on to the setting of the story. The main point is expressed throughout the story, but not enough to make it significant. Marcum never really ends the story with people thanking Donna Johnson.
I thought this was a good story, but not a great one. I don't think it paid much attention to the main idea, and it didn't really stand out to me at any point while I was reading it. I think Marcum could've done a better job with making the story more exciting and making a better ending.
